Clement Ikolo, the King of Ewu Kingdom in Delta State, who was among the eight individuals wanted by the Defence Headquarters for their alleged involvement in the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama community, has surrendered himself to the Delta State Police Command.
Ikolo arrived at the state police command headquarters at 6:41pm on Thursday to report to Police Commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda.
Before surrendering to the police, Ikolo addressed journalists, vehemently proclaiming his innocence in the matter.
He maintained his stance of being uninvolved in the incident.
Confirming Ikolo’s surrender, the Delta State Police Command stated that they have taken him into custody.
Bright Edafe, the police spokesman in the state, confirmed this development.
The Defence Headquarters had earlier declared eight individuals wanted for their alleged roles in the killing of the military personnel. Aside from Ikolo, the other wanted persons are Prof.
Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (also known as Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.
These individuals were identified as suspects in the recent attack on military personnel, prompting their declaration as wanted by the Defence Headquarters.
Ikolo’s decision to turn himself in marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
