Recall that the video showing them with victims’ ransom money trended after the release of Kaduna schoolchildren who were kidnapped in an incident that sparked outrage and condemnation from several quarters including the UN children’s welfare agency UNICEF.

In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, a total of 137 students were rescued on Sunday.

According to the statement, the children were rescued in Zamfara State in the early hours of Sunday, through the joint efforts of the military and local authorities.

However, barely a day after the good news, the video showing the bandits flaunting their ransom money surfaced.
