Who Is Hon. Aminu Suleiman: Businessman Who Gifted Tinubu N100m For His Presidential Nomination Form

Nigerians are keen to know more about Honourable Aminu Suleiman, a Kebbi businessman who single-handedly donated N100 million to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the purchase of his presidential nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the 2023 elections.

On Wednesday, Suleiman, who is the Director-General of Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), took to his Twitter channel to make the announcement.

He wrote: “I, Hon. Aminu Suleiman (D.G TSO) will like to officially state that I have signed A Cheque to the tune of 100 million Naira, for the purchase of Nomination and Expression of interest form for our Leader.”

His tweet came a few hours after the All Progressives Congress, APC, announced the cost of its forms ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Who Is Hon. Suleiman

Nigerians on social media raised questions, as they wonder how rich he could be to afford a presidential nomination form for another.

Regarding who he is, Hon Aminu Suleiman’s profile says he was born on June 10th, 1965 in Goro, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria.

He represents Fagge Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

His Early Life

The administrator and politician attended Government Technical College, Kano, where he sat for and passed the Senior School Certificate (SSCE) in 1985.

He then attended the Kano State Polytechnic and obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Administration.

After his Higher Diploma, he also obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Bayero University Kano.

Hon. Suleiman’s Career

Hon. Suleiman Aminu’s biography says that in 2011, he was elected to represent Fagge Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

Then, from 2011 to 2015, he became a member at Media and Public Affairs Committee. He was also the Vice Chairman at Labour, Employment and Productivity Committee.

His biography also says that after he was re-elected in 2015, he was appointed Chairman at Tertiary Education & Services Committee. He is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

APC’s Cost Of Nomination Forms For 2023 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, 20th April, 2022, stirred mixed and angry reactions from Nigerians after it announced the cost of its presidential, governorship, senatorial, and other forms for the forthcoming general elections.

The party fixed the cost for its 2023 presidential forms at 100m, governorship ticket at N50 million, State House Of Assembly at 2 Million Naira, House of Representatives at 10 Million Naira, Senate at 20 Million Naira.

APC’s position follows the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) announcement that its nomination and expression of interest forms for presidential aspirants is at N40m.

Most Interestingly, the PDP had also approved a 50 per cent reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions.

To this end, Nigerian youths on social media heaped praises on the PDP while lambasting the APC.

According to the APC, the fee was approved at the ongoing National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party in Abuja.

The Party said: “State House Of Assembly Goes For 2 Million Naira. House of Representatives Goes For 10 Million Naira. Senate Goes For 20 Million Naira. Governorship Goes For 50 Million Naira and Presidency Goes For 100 Million Naira.”
