The Nigerian Army troops of 144 Battalion, Operation Hadin Kai deployed at Madagali, Adamawa state, on Tuesday, apprehended a top Commander of the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP), Saidu Hassan Yellow, also known as Abu Saidu, who masterminded the killing of an army general and three soldiers in 2021.
In an intelligence- led operation, the terrorist kingpin who is among one of the most wanted criminals on the list of security agencies, was apprehended at the Mubi Market General area on April 9, 2024.
He led the November 12th, 2021 attack on Askira Town where the Commander of 28 Task Force Brigade and three soldiers lost their lives.After his arrest, only N1900 in cash was recovered from him.
Other items recovered include 3 mobile handsets, 3 ATM cards, one wrist watch, 4 rings, and a bunch of keys.He has been moved to the military high command for investigation and profiling.
