A discussion on the open declaration of some alleged members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who announced themselves as chairpersons of the party is trending.
Since yesterday, the online space has been repleted with photos of the self-acclaimed new chairpersons of the ruling party, leaving Nigerians wondering if the APC is facing any crisis.
Reacting, a concerned Nigerian on Twitter, @Weyimi wrote: “I woke up to see so many factions of APC.
“I’ve counted at least 11 APC chairpersons. Did rapture happen at that party overnight?”
However, some reports have exposed the faces behind this controversy as supporters of the Labour Party who believe that the APC is sponsoring the Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party against their presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.
A socio-political commentator, @Jerome James revealed: “APC is now having many chairmen just like the crisis people believe it engineered in the Labour Party. Mr Obi’s supporters have now declared themselves as the party’s chairman.”
Yesterday, the suspended National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure, said the factional leadership of the Labour Party under Lamidi Apapa has been paid to truncate the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi’s petitions at the Election Tribunal.
Julius Abure noted that he is right on his position because recent interviews granted by Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party is tailored towards the Election Tribunal.
Barrister Abure’s statement comes immediately after the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, in a ruling on Friday, restrained him and and his team from parading themselves as national officers of the LP. CONTINUE READING
