INTERESTING!! Remember Dasuki’s N23.3bn Fraud Case; See The EFCC’s Next Move That Has Got People Talking

On Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, re-arraigned former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki over the N23.3bn fraud case he was involved in.

In what is said to be a fresh revisit of the case just after Justice Yusuf was appointed as the Chief Judge of the FCT, reports say Dasuki was arraigned alongside a former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa; his son Sagir Bafarawa; their company, Dalhatu Investment Limited; and a former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, on corruption charges.

Recall that the former National Security Adviser was first arraigned on December 14, 2015 before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, but he was later elevated to the Court of Appeal, forcing the trial to begin afresh.

The aformentioned defendants were re-arraigned on allegations of breach of trust and criminal misappropriation of public funds amounting to N23.3bn, with credible reports confirming that when the charges were read to them, all of them pleaded not guilty.

Worth mentioning, they were also accused of diverting various sums in various currencies to different bank accounts under the false pretence of using the funds for the procurement of security equipment.

On social media, @John Unique reacted saying: “Can we say we already the end of this corruption case from the beginning…After 7years, even if he get convicted, presidential pardon likely awaits him. God save Nigeria cos this just recycling, the worst part is that is public funds that are being wasted for all these trials. Nigeria is tired of Nigeria.”
