In reaction, Festus Keyamo, spokesman for the presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress said: “This is the disaster that befell the PDP In Abeokuta. Even the Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council was rebuffed by the crowd in a most embarrassing manner! The crowd simply said NO! to PDP.”

Meanwhile, Femi Fani Kayode, a chieftain of the APC had expressed the belief that the recent allegations against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is too weighty to be ignored.

The allegations against Atiku bother on criminal breach of public trust.

Noting that there is no country in the world in which such a high level of incriminating and damning evidence of thievery is presented and yet nothing happens, Fani Kayode on Friday said: “I read Atiku Abubakar’s personal response to whistleblower Michael Achimugbu’s grave allegations.

“These allegations were backed up with DIRECT evidence in the form of an audio tape in which the former Vice President was heard confessing to various crimes and explaining how those crimes were hatched, planned, organised and perpetuated.

“He also mentioned the names of his alleged accomplices.

“Instead of issuing statements to the press Atiku should be under arrest and writing formal statements under caution for the security agencies.

“There is no country in the world in which such a high level of incriminating and damning evidence of thievery is presented and yet nothing happens. If it had been ANY other presidential candidate’s voice making such horrendous confessions about the commission of criminal offences on audio tape they would have been invited or arrested by now and the matter would gave been the subject of a formal criminal investigation.

“This begs the question: IS ATIKU ABOVE THE LAW? Is he untouchable? If so what makes him so different to everyone else and who are those protecting him?”

In the same vein, a former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes and member of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council ( PCC), Kayode Oladele shared the view of Fani Kayode.

According to Oladele who is a lawyer, “the allegations against the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar are too weighty to be ignored by the anti-graft agencies and the general public.

“They bother on criminal breach of public trust. Nigerians believe that those who aspire to rule the country, will hold the interests of society above their own interests.

“If therefore, there is a scintilla of evidence to believe that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, a presidential candidate is not fit to hold such an office on grounds of corruption, abuse of power or criminal breach of public trust, such an allegation should not be swept under the carpet for any reason whatsoever.

“In most cases, whistle blowers’ identities are often protected from the general public for fear of intimidation or threats to their lives or that of their family members.
