Atiku, Tinubu’s Controversies Predicted To Give Peter Obi Big Advantage In 2023

The Controversies surrounding two of Nigeria’s most favoured presidential candidates: Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, may likely hand a big advantage to Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the forthcoming general elections.

This prediction, bornt by Nigerians follows Bola Tinubu’s educational qualification saga and the recent controversial remark against Atiku, made by the country’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

On the part of Tinubu, Nigerians believe the presidential candidate may wake up the next day to find himself in court for commiting perjury owing to his Friday’s affidavit to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC: a situation that may disqualify his candidacy if found wanting.

In his affidavit to INEC, which was part of his eligibility filings for the 2023 presidential elections, the APC presidential candidate contradicted his previous affidavits he had submitted to the electoral body while seeking elective positions in the past.

According to many, this means he lied under oath, thus commiting perjury.

On the part of Atiku, Obasanjo’s statement that he regretted picking him as his running mate in the 1999 general elections may have just discredited him, thus changing the minds of the electorates.

Notwithstanding, many have also expressed belief that the former president may wake up the next day and open up can of worms about Atiku, given the number of ears that are awaiting to learn the reason why he regrets picking the presidential candidate as his running mate in 1999.

Following these controversies, there’s a great prospect that they may turn out in Peter Obi’s favour, a man who has been tipped to wrestle power from Atiku and Tinubu’s political parties which have dominated the Nigerian political sphere since the emergence of the country’s democracy.
