100-Year-Old Lady Cried Tears Of Joy When Garbage Collectors Surprised Her With A Birthday Cake

A popular YouTube video has thawed the hearts of many individuals.

In the video, a garbage man by the name Ben Bird was seen strolling down a garden path, holding in his hands a pink and white birthday cake.

This birthday cake was in honor of his close friend Dorothy Ballard, also known as Mercy, who turned 100 on that day.

Ben happened to be her garbage man, who has been collecting her rubbish for eight years.

The employer and employee developed a wonderful friendship as they would always have a ten minutes chat, each time Ben visits.

Garbage man had promised Mercy during one of their brief conversations, that he will bring her a cake when she turns 100.

As Mercy turned 100, Ben showed up at the door with two of his friends and a birthday cake, to surprise her and celebrate her birthday as well.

Mercy opened the door, Ben started singing ‘Happy Birthday’, the elderly lady who just turned 100, covered her face with her hands in apparent amazement at his antics.

As Ben asked her to make a wish to live up to a 105, before blowing out the candles, old Mercy asked him to shut up, cracking everyone in the video up.

However, Mercy’s eldest granddaughter Katy Smith who shared the amazing video, said she was grateful for all the family, friends, neighbors and people like Ben, who had taken time out of their schedule to make her granny’s day a memorable one.

Unfortunately, Dorothy Ballard passed away in 2020, though the kind gesture still live on through the video, amazing everyone. May her soul rests in peace. CONTINUE READING
